  • to carry out artistic creations by various means, with the intention to associate colours to natural elements, tastes, smells, sounds, movements, moods, feelings, emotions;
  • to create small coloured pottery items by using glazes;
  • to reassess simple daily gestures through applications of the theme;
  • to help the participants (including the local children) relate and interact through group work on the them

Any technique from whatever area of art is accepted.
Participation in the symposium includes working with local children for a number of hours to be agreed upon from the beginning. Therefore, besides the personal project, every participant must organize a project involving children (the possibility of a personal project involving children in the first palce is not excluded provided it matches the criteria).
Any participant will carry out a personal project, another with children and piece of work for the sponsors. These will remain in custody of ARS CONTINUA.

Schedule:

Initial regulation:
Artists who wish to participate must send to the address of the Association ARS CONTINUA (post or e-mail) a project including three ideas of work on only one color, their own choice out of the seven, in accordance to the objectives and schedule listed above, expressed through sketches or photos, text;
Please consider involving children (between six and 18 years old) from Cucuteni in the workshops, that is, suggest an activity that can be carried out with their help (part of your project, the entire project or something besides the project).
Any technique, any art field is accepted.
During the two weeks, we would like to have all the participants manufacture small pottery items, even if they are not potters, on their own or together with a group of children (we will all have the assistance of participant potters ).
The theme is a selection criteria, but once the work group is complete, we will communicate via internet in order to decide upon the schedule, work manner and other details.
During the two weeks of work at Cucuteni, we intend to accomplish together a “round” event out of this edition of the Symposium, the seventh in the series organized since 2002.
If necessary, we will agree upon changes in the projects, because we would like to have each artist assume one color and multiple directions and techniques for a complexity of expression possibilities.

To relive a place through art: Cucuteni” ( July 10-30, 2005 ) more about >>

This project means to revive interest in art practicing, especially ceramic art at Cucuteni, the county of Iasi and to encourage the creativity of inhabitants. Focus is laid on children and their possible directions of personal development. We also mean to highlight the old tradition of mask drama of Cucuteni.

All these prompted a dialogue between traditional and modern, among art professionals, popular artists, and locals and will lead to public awareness concerning long-forgotten traditions.

„ Ceramics Workshop at Cucuteni ” ( August 10-30, 2004 )

After noticing the lack of ceramics production and manufacturing at the very place that gave name to the culture and the very famous Neolithic ceramic, also the lack of encouragement of any artistic expression among the inhabitants, Ionela Mihuleac initiated and organized an experimental workshop of ceramics. This workshop involved children of Cucuteni, the county of Iasi and resulted in creating Neolithic pottery and clay figurines under the guidance of ceramics specialist Eugenia Pop from Cluj-Napoca.

The impact of this workshop on a number of social segments was unexpectedly intense.
